Fifteen Miles on the Erie Canal

Low bridge, everybody down

Low bridge cause we ‘re coming to a town

And you’ll always know your neighbor, you’ll always know your pal

If you ever navigated on the Erie Canal !

Today we traveled to New York to see the Erie Canal.  We learned that the Erie Canal was built to connect the Great Lakes to the Hudson River which then flows into the Atlantic Ocean.

The Erie Canal  helped make New York City a very busy port city.

I miss being in the back of the class while the class is traveling! I was just looking through Dennis’ scrap book that he made last year and I was thinking how much the kids enjoyed traveling.
